City Government

  1. City Compost Facility

    October 23, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ 320 Broad Street

    Check with attendant before loading or unloading material. Materials accepted: cut grass, leaves, limbs (6” diameter or smaller). Leaves or grass must be unbagged before unloading and bags may be discarded into trash container provided by the City. No lumber, construction debris, or household trash will be accepted. City personnel will not load compost; you must provide your own shovel or pitch fork for loading composted material.

  2. Neighborhood Clean-Up Program

    October 25, 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Winfield Fairgrounds

    Time to clean out that garage or shed and prune some of those bushes around the house. The city will have a container for household clean-up items, at a designated location. Each week the container will be in different locations, so watch out ad to find out where. Please DO NOT bring the following items: oil, batteries, refrigerators or air-conditioners, and paint.

  15. Pi Gamma Mu Shuttle Ghost Tour

    October 29, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Tour starts at 1500 E. Eighth Ave.

    There will be two tours scheduled, first at 7 p.m. and again at 8. Tickets for the shuttle can be reserved and picked up at the tour starting point by calling Southwestern College social sciences faculty assistant Pam Olney at 229-6367. Tickets may also be purchased at College Hill Coffee, 403 Soward. There will be a 30-person maximum for each tour. The tour will begin boarding 15 minutes before departure.
