Christmas Cookie Contest

Leave This Blank:

Bakers are asked to provide 15 cookies. A contestant is allowed one entry per category. The three categories are:

1. Decorated – This category will be judged primarily by creativity and skill of your use of decorative icing and edible accessories. Cookies will also be judged by taste and unity.
2. Bar Cookies – This category will be judged by taste, appearance, and unity. Bar cookies should be baked in a rectangle or square pan and cut into rectangle or square pieces.
3. Traditional Recipe – This category will also be judged by taste, appearance, and unity. Show us your best classic cookie!

All contestants are asked to include their recipe with their entry. You can either upload the recipe here or bring it with your cookies. Winning recipes will be available to the public after the contest. Cookies should be taken to the Winfield Chamber at 123 E. 9th Ave. on Saturday, November 18th at 9:00 AM. If you cannot make arrangements to drop off your cookies on Saturday morning, they may be dropped off Friday by 5:00 PM. Winners will be announced at noon on Saturday, November 18th during the Holiday Open House. During the Holiday Open House at the Chamber, kids will be able to participate in a “cookie walk” where they will be able to win a dozen of the cookies from the cookie contest. Therefore, we ask that bakers bring in a dozen cookies to give away and 3 cookies on a separate plate to be judged.

Category winners will receive $25 in Holiday Bucks. The overall winner will receive $50 in Holiday Bucks and a gift basket filled with baking goods. Holiday Bucks can be spent at businesses participating in the Holiday Open House. A news release will be sent out after the contest containing the winning recipes, the history behind them, and information about the bakers.
There is no fee to enter.
