Customer Service

A variety of services are offered by the Customer Service Office, located in City Hall, 200 E. 9th Ave., 620-221-5500. Services include:

Services for electric, gas, water and refuse collection may be obtained through this office with the payment of non-refundable connection fees. A 24-hour notice for connection is required.

Each month more than 17,000 utility meters are read. Two full-time meter readers record readings from electric, gas and water meters using hand-held meter reading devices. The information entered on the devices during the day is downloaded into the utility billing software each evening and filed into the appropriate customer history file.
Over 85,000 utility bills are processed each year. Billings are done in four cycles each month. Depending on meter reading routes, customers are billed the 1st, 9th, 17th or 24th of each month. Payments may be made up to 20 days after billing without penalty. Methods for payment accepted include:

  • Online Payment 

For the customers convenience, after office hours payments may be placed in the night drop box located at City Hall or in the drop box at Dillon's grocery store. Online payment can be made through our Customer Self Service Portal, Check out our Payment Options page for more information.

Customers have the option of paying an equal amount each month on their utility bills to assist them in their personal budgets. "Budget billing" payments are figured on an average of the past 12 months bills.
