Underground Utilities
Wastewater collection and water distribution has been combined to create the underground utilities department. The underground utilities serve approximately 5,000 customers and we maintain nearly 200 miles of pipeline, various valves, man holes, and lift stations throughout the city of Winfield. Within the system there are nearly 600 fire hydrants that are tested annually to obtain flow and pressure data and this maintenance program results in reduced insurance rates for property owners in the city of Winfield.
